Hi, I'm Samantha, an RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon and Official Veterinarian (OV) based in the UK, specialising in pet travel certification.
I founded Vet Pet Biz to provide a dedicated, stress-free service for pet owners preparing to travel abroad with their animals. Whether you're taking your dog on holiday to Europe or relocating your cat overseas, I’m here to ensure your paperwork is accurate, compliant, and issued with care.
With years of experience in clinical practice and additional OV training in animal export certification, I understand both the health and legal requirements involved in pet travel - and how confusing the process can sometimes feel.

The cost of the services varies depending on what documentation is needed and which country you are travelling to. I strive to provide affordable and competitive pricing, and I am more than happy to provide estimates upon request. Please enquire so I can provide you with an accurate quote.
I provide veterinary certification services to support safe and compliant pet travel, including:
- Animal Health Certificates (AHCs)
For pet travel to EU countries and Northern Ireland, issued within 10 days of departure. - Export Health Certificates (EHCs)
For pet travel outside the EU, tailored to specific destination requirements. - OV66 ID Verification/Check
For pet travel specifically to Australia, whether it's the first ID check or the second, and includes microchip check, pet detail confirmation, and photo submission. - Microchip Checks
Verifying that your pet’s microchip is functional, readable, and meets international travel standards. - Document Verification
Reviewing existing paperwork (e.g. vaccine records, passports) to ensure everything meets travel requirements. - Scheduling of Vaccinations
Advising when to book or repeat vaccinations to comply with travel rules, especially rabies vaccinations. I can help you book these appointments at a local vet clinic. - Written Prescriptions
Issuing veterinary prescriptions where needed (e.g. for tapeworm treatment or travel-related medication). - Travel Advice & Documentation Guidance
Helping you understand country-specific rules, treatment timelines, and approved travel routes. - Home Visits (Subject to Location)
Convenient in-home appointments available in some areas, for an additional fee.
Pricing includes a consultation, pet ID check, document verification, and issuing of the certificate. I also provide guidance on any country-specific travel requirements.
Yes - home visits are available in certain areas for an additional fee (prices dependent on area). This can be especially helpful for multi-pet households or clients with limited transport.
I do my best to accommodate urgent requests. A priority fee may apply depending on availability and certificate type.
I recommend getting in touch at least 7-10 days before travelling to countries within the EU and at least 25-30 days before travelling to all other countries. However, this can greatly vary depending on where you're travelling to, so the earlier, the better!
At the moment, UK-issued pet passports are no longer valid for travel to the EU, and the AHC document has replaced these. If your pet holds an EU-issued pet passport, this will be valid for travel to the EU. There is talk about UK-issued pet passports returning in the future, but there hasn't been a release date yet.
